Excel Crashed when Combobox is open

Hi,

Here is the case:

I have kept my Combo Box open (means i had clicked on drop down) and simultaneously I did some data extract from some application.

When Combo Box is active and data extract is opening, Excel crashes. Is this a bug?

Not sure whether it is a bug or just an over stretching of the model (I guess if allowed that would be a bug) how are you doing both things simultaneously? I would have thought that losing focus from the combo box would automatically close the drop down?

As I was working on some file which had combo box, I did data retrieval from a application. Usually it will take atleast 30 seconds for me to get the extracts. Meantime I use to work on the file which has combo boxes. At times I have noticed if the focus is on and the extract is about to open, excel strucks.

I know of no specific issues around this and would just say it is good practice to wait for something to finish a process before starting another. For interest, did you mention what version this is as Excel2007 is multi-threading and may help?????

This is with both 2003 and 2007 version.
